Exhibiting unusual musical aptitude as a very young child, Tori Amos was invited to attend the Peabody Conservatory of Music of music at the tender age of five. The strict, uninspired curriculum proved completely at odds with her intuitive form of playing, and she was expelled from the school by the time she was 10.
Undeterred in her conviction that music was her calling, she began to perform her songs in clubs as a teenager; in 1984 she moved to Los Angeles and formed her first band, releasing the album Y Kant Tori Read. The music and image of the record were largely shaped by ill-advised record label marketing ideas, and it quickly disappeared without a trace (it fetches a considerable sum if you manage to find it now, though). Initially devastated by this setback, Tori, with the encouragement of friends, ultimately used the experience as a motivation to create music that was free from outside interference. Her debut record, Little Earthquakes, was the success she had wanted, creatively and commercially. Although initially popular only in England, the record inevitably caught on in the States, where many of her fans mistakenly believed she was British.
Subsequent releases have only solidified the devout following garnered by Little Earthquakes, but unconventional (and noncommercial) twists in her musical output have prevented her from becoming a larger (and therefore transient) "pop star".

While it is generally accepted that Christina's voice is the better of the two, Britney has maintained the greater degree of popularity. As the two little vixens foray into young-adulthood, the competition has moved from the arena of artistic merit into that of self-exploitation, both seeking to display themselves with smaller bits of clothing, larger quantities of make-up, and gyrating their buttocks more furiously than the other. It is only a matter of waiting to see which one moves into the porn industry first, a step that can not be that far away.

Born in Brooklyn, Aaliyah Haughton was moved to Detroit at an early age, where her parents provided her with a vocal instructor before she was even old enough to attend school. Her public singing career was initiated at the ripe old age of 9, the young singer making an unsuccessful bid on the televised pissing contest Star Search; the loss didn't break her stride in the least, and by 11 she was performing in Las Vegas as a part of Gladys Knight's act. The combination of good lungs, training and inside connections moved things along quickly, and after an uncle (fortuitously placed as CEO of the Blackground management company) introduced her to one of the artists in his stable - R&B singer R. Kelly -- the 15-year-old's recording career was underway. Kelly went on to write and produce most of the debut album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, which, released in 1994 on Blackground Records (a new label created by her uncle specifically to provide a outlet for her debut) launched Aaliyah into the charts with 2 top ten singles.
Following the success of the record, Aaliyah embarked upon an extensive world tour before returning to complete her education. During this time a controversy surrounding her relationship to Kelly (some sources claiming they had married despite her status as a minor) was stirred up by the press; both denied a romantic link of any kind, but the gossip brought their working relationship to an end regardless. For the next album, Aaliyah enlisted the services of then-mostly-unknown producers Timbaland and Missy Elliott: a combination that would send the careers of all three into the stratosphere with its resultant One in a Million (1996). With this second album, she would score her first #1 single (If Your Girl Only Knew) and establish herself as a multi-platinum artist.
Over the next two years, Aaliyah kept herself in the public consciousness with contributions to the soundtracks for the animated film Anastasia (earning her an Oscar nomination) and the Eddie Murphy vehicle Doctor Dolittle (earning her a Grammy nomination). The inevitable move from the soundtrack to the film itself was made in 2000, when producer Joel Silver enlisted her as one of the lead actors in the action film Romeo Must Die; the popularity of the film would later bring about a role in Queen of the Damned (released in 2002) and prospective roles in the sequels to The Matrix (which she was never able to pursue).
Eventually the singer returned to the studio, her 2001 eponymous release again making use of the skills of Elliott and Timbaland. She continued to have small roles up until 2005, when she began to have a reoccurring role as Jesse on the popular TV series, The O.C. Her character on the show is a wild partier and drug addict - the complete opposite of Nikki in real life.
2005 was also a big year for her on the big screen, she had been given the role of Katie Johnson in the 2005 summer blockbuster movie Dukes of Hazzard starring Jessica Simpson, Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott, where she plays the beautiful and sexy love interest of both Bo and Luke Duke. At a very young age (8), she knew what she wanted to do with her life: act and model, which she began to do. She started to gain some success in her commercial acting (her first one was for Ovaltine) and modeling, so in 2003 her family moved to from one Hollywood (Florida) to Hollywood, California to further grow in her career. Within three weeks of arriving in California, she already had her first television role, when she co-starred on an episode of the Gilmore Girls playing the role of a Hobbit.
After a long summer in Hollywood, her family returned back to Florida for the winter and following spring so Victoria could continue with her schoolwork – which she scored A’s.
In 2004 she began to make it big in the kid’s modeling world by contracting for three of the industry’s biggest campaigns: Guess, Gap and Ralph Lauren.
Victoria’s first big screen debut came in 2004, in a supporting role in the indie movie Fallacy starring Stephen Baldwin and Gary Busey, followed by a little larger role the following year as the young Nikki in When Do We Eat? about a Passover dinner gone out of control. In 2004, she appeared in other small indie films, such, My Purple Fur Coat, and Mary, where she received her first lead role and the film became an Official 2005 Sundance Selection.
In 2005 she continued her schoolwork in Los Angeles, after auditioning and being accepted into the renowned Performing Arts Magnet school. While in school, she continued to do commercials and even appeared in an episode of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody where rumors were made that she dated on of the Sprouse twins. He has also appeared in theater in productions of Annie, Give My Regards to Broadway and Tribute to Disney.
As her career began to grow, so did her roles and in 2005 appeared as Holly in the horror movie, The Garden and then a made for TV Christmas movie, Silver Bells. She also filmed a psychological thriller entitled Unknown, which will be released in 2006
Victoria Justice’s big break came in 2005, when she was asked to join the cast of Nickelodeon’s popular television show, Zoey 101 (as Lola Martinez) along side child star Jamie Lynn Spears and the rest of a talented young cast [PS: No, she is not dating co-star Matt Underwood, they are just good friends and have know each other for years from the modeling circuit back in Florida.] In 2006, she, along with the cast of Zoey 101, won the Young Artist Award for Best Young Ensemble Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) and the show was also nominated for an Emmy Award.
